Ford Cars

Ford Motor Company is probably one of the most popular and respected companies in America. It is also the fourth largest auto manufacturer in the world after Toyota, GM and Volkswagen.

The headquarters are in Dearborn, Michigan, a big suburb of Detroit. This company was created on 16th of June, 1903 by Henry Ford.

Besides the Ford brand, the company also owns the Mercury and Lincoln brands. In Sweden Ford also has Volvo Cars of Sweden and also a small share of Mazda and Aston Martin in UK. For several years Ford also owned the UK brands Jaguar and Land Rover but they were purchased in March 2008 by Tata Motors in India.

Ford Ka – This is a small city car created by Ford Motor Company for the European market. Its name is pronounced as Ka. The pronunciation is like the word "car" in non-rhotic English dialects. The version for the European market is made in the factory in Valencia, Spain. The model that is sold in the Latin America is made in Brazil and also in Argentina. The car has entered production in 1996 and the second generation is being made since the year of 2008.

Ford Fiesta – This rather small front wheel car and super mini car made by Ford Motor Company and constructed in Europe, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, China, India and also in South Africa. This car is marketed all around the world, even in Japan or Australasia. In 2010, the third generation will also be on the market in North America.

Ford Focus – The Ford Focus is considered a small family car. In 1998 it was introduced in Europe, in 2000 it was released in North America, and in 2002 was on the Australian market. In 2005, it was launched in Europe the second generation and in 2008 also got some styling updates. From 2008, the car is also available world wide outside North America and also South America.

Ford Fusion – This is a European car, a stretched version of Ford Fiesta and was made by Ford of Europe in 2002. It was sold in India and across Europe. It has small hatchbacks. This SUV is to become an “Urban Activity Vehicle” UAV.

Ford Mondeo – This is a beautiful car that is sold as a large family vehicle. It is created by Ford Motor Company and it is being sold all over the world.
