Porsche Cars

Founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, Porsche SE is a car manufacturer based in Germany. Its main focus is on luxury sports cars, though they also make an SUV model.

In 2006, Porsche received the most prestigious automobile brand award from Luxury Institute, New York.  They also received the J.D. Power and Associates award for the quality of the models they produce.

Porsche 911 - is the most famous model among Porsche cars. It’s a rear engine sports car, that was first introduced in 1964. It comes in three body styles: 2 door Targa, 2 door coupe and 2 door cabriolet. The 997 series, which is the current version, was introduced in 2005.

Porsche Boxter - is a roadster model, with a mid-engine, that was launched in 1996. The only body style that it comes in is the 2 door convertible. The current generation is the second one to be released, and it was launched in 2005, after making its debut in 2004, at the Paris Motor Show.

Porsche Cayman - launched in 2006, Porsche Cayman is a two seat sports car, in the form of a coupe, with rear wheel drive and a mid-engine. There is also a limited edition model based on the Cayman, called S Sport, which is considered a 2009 model.

Porsche Cayenne - the first SUV model produced by Porsche, the Cayenne has five seats and was launched in 2002. It has a front engine and four wheel drive, and it’s main competitors are Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg. This model received a facelift in 2008.

Porsche Panamera - currently in development, the new Porsche Panamera will be launched in 2009. It’s a four seat, four door luxury sedan, with rear wheel drive, a front engine, and in the top versions it will come with four wheel drive.
