Toyota Cars

The largest car manufacturer in the world, Toyota is based in Japan. Their first car was launched in 1936, and they currently also own the Scion and Lexus brands, plus the majority in Daihatsu.

Their revenue in 2008 was 262.39 billion, with a net income of $17.15 billion. Their assets are estimated to be worth 323.97 billion, and they have over 300,000 employees worldwide.

Toyota Aygo - a city car that begun production in 2005, the Toyota Aygo is being made in the Czech Republic, in a joint Toyota-Peugeot factory. It was first shown to the public at the Geneve Auto Show in 2005. The name Aygo means freedom and mobility, and it comes from "i-go".

Toyota Yaris (Vitz) - initially launched in 1999, the Toyota Yaris, or Vitz as it’s called in some markets, is a hatchback that comes in 3 and 5 door variants. The name Yaris is used in Europe, America, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.

Toyota Auris - this Toyota car comes in two variants, hatchback with 5 doors and compact with 3 doors. It’s considered to be the replacement for the Corolla hatchback, while the Corolla sedan will continue to be made.

Toyota Avensis - built in the UK, the Avensis is considered to be a large family car. The first Avensis model was launched in 1998, more than 20 years ago. Its main competitors are Ford Mondeo, Opel Vectra and Peugeot 407.

Toyota Corolla - belonging to the subcompact or compact car category, the Toyota Corolla was introduced under this name in 1966. Over 30 million cars were sold since it was first introduced, making it the best selling cars of all times.

Toyota Prius – the first mass-produced vehicle of its kind, the Toyota Prius is mid-size car, which is hybrid electric. It was first launched in 1997 in Japan, and in 2001 worldwide. It was also the most fuel efficient car from the US in 2007.

Toyota RAV4 – is a compact crossover SUV, that was launched in 1994. The name RAV4 means "recreational active vehicle with 4 wheel drive". The latest facelift was made for the 2009 model, which also comes with a new standard engine.

Toyota Land Cruiser - built since 1954, the Toyota Land Cruiser is a four-wheel vehicle which is also the flagship model for Toyota’s 4WD line. The latest version of the Land Cruiser is named the 200 series, and it shares the design and platform with the Lexus LX.
